Need to update many items at once? Bulk operations let you make changes to multiple work items in a single action.
Getting There
Navigate to Bulk Operations from the sidebar, or find it linked from the work items page.
How It Works
-
Select items — Use the checkboxes to select the work items you want to update. Use the header checkbox to select all.
-
Choose an operation from the dropdown:
| Operation | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Update Status | Change the status of all selected items |
| Assign | Set the assignee for all selected items |
| Move to Sprint | Assign all selected items to a sprint (or move to backlog) |
| Add Tag | Add a tag to all selected items |
| Delete | Remove all selected items (with confirmation) |
-
Set the value — A second dropdown appears where you pick the new status, assignee, sprint, or tag.
-
Apply — Click the apply button. You'll see a confirmation dialog showing what will change and how many items are affected.
After Applying
A success message shows how many items were updated. The grid refreshes to reflect the changes.
⚠️ Delete Operations
Deleting items is permanent. The delete button appears in red and requires a confirmation step. Deleted items and their children are removed.
Tips
- 💡 Great for end-of-sprint cleanup — move all remaining items to the next sprint in one go.
- 💡 Use it to tag a group of related items for easy filtering later.
- 💡 The grid supports sorting and filtering, so you can narrow down to exactly the items you need before selecting.
