Where You Can Drag
| View | What You Drag | What Happens |
|---|---|---|
| 📋 List View | Work item rows | Reparent — Move an item under a different parent |
| 📝 Board View | Kanban cards | Change status — Drop in a different column |
| 📥 Backlog View | Work items | Assign to sprint or reorder within the backlog |
| 🏃 Sprint Board | Cards | Change status within the sprint |
| 📅 Roadmap | Timeline bars | Reschedule start/end dates |
| 📎 Attachments | Files from your computer | Upload to the work item |
Hierarchy Rules (List View)
When dragging items in the List view, Dragon Planner validates whether the move is allowed based on the item type hierarchy. For example:
- ✅ Dragging a Story under an Epic — allowed
- ❌ Dragging an Epic under a Task — not allowed
If a move isn't valid, you'll see a warning message and the item snaps back to its original position.
Tips
- 💡 Drag slowly and deliberately — a drop indicator shows you where the item will land before you release.
- 💡 On the Board view, the card fades slightly while dragging so you can see where you're dropping it.
- 💡 All drag-and-drop changes save automatically — no need to click Save.
