AI: Setting Context & Navigation

Before your AI assistant can work with a project, it needs to know *which* workspace and project you're talking about. This is called setting context.

Before your AI assistant can work with a project, it needs to know which workspace and project you're talking about. This is called setting context.

How Context Works

When you first connect, the AI doesn't know which project to work with. It uses these tools to navigate:

Setting Context

Ask your AI to switch to a project by name, prefix, or ID:

"Switch to the Website Redesign project" "Set context to the ENG workspace, API project"

The AI uses set_context behind the scenes. You can reference projects by:

  • 📌 Name — "Website Redesign"
  • 🏷️ Prefix — "WEB"
  • 🔑 UUID — The full project ID

Auto-Resolution

If your organization only has one workspace, it's selected automatically. Same for a single project — no need to set context manually.

Checking Context

Not sure what's active? Ask:

"What project are you working with?"

The AI will tell you the current workspace and project.

Clearing Context

Switch away from a project:

"Clear the project context" "Clear everything and start fresh"

Browsing Your Organization

The AI can also help you explore:

  • 🏢 List workspaces — See all your workspaces and their status
  • 📁 List projects — See projects in a workspace (including archived ones if you ask)
  • 👥 List team members — See who's on the team, their roles, and seat types

Creating Workspaces & Projects

Your AI can create new workspaces and projects for you:

"Create a new workspace called Marketing" "Create a Scrum project called Campaign Tracker with prefix CT in the Marketing workspace"

⚠️ Plan limits still apply — if you've reached your workspace or project limit, the AI will let you know.

Context Persistence

Once set, your context stays active for 24 hours within the same session. You don't need to re-set it every time you ask a question.
