AI: Sprints & Planning

Your AI assistant can help with sprint planning and tracking without ever opening the web app.

Your AI assistant can help with sprint planning and tracking without ever opening the web app.

Viewing Sprints

"What's the current sprint?" "Show me Sprint 3 details" "Get the summary for the current sprint"

The AI can retrieve:

  • ▶️ Current sprint — The active sprint for your workspace, with dates and goal
  • 💳 Sprint details — Name, number, goal, date range, status, holidays, and notes
  • 📊 Sprint summary — Completion stats including completed/incomplete counts and story points, plus a list of unfinished items

Assigning Items to Sprints

"Assign WEB-42 and WEB-43 to Sprint 3" "Move all the authentication stories to the current sprint" "Remove WEB-44 from its sprint" (moves to backlog)

The AI can assign multiple items at once using comma-separated item numbers. Items that are already in the target sprint are quietly skipped.

Program Increments

"List the program increments for 2026" "Show me the Q2 PI details"

The AI can:

  • 📅 List PIs — Filter by year and/or quarter
  • 💳 Get PI details — Full breakdown including all sprints within the PI

Sprint Summary for Standups

A great use case — ask your AI for a sprint summary during a standup:

"Give me a summary of how the current sprint is going"

The AI will report completed vs. remaining items, story points completed, and which items still need attention.

Tips

  • 💡 Combine sprint tools with work item tools for efficient planning: "Create a Bug for the payment crash and assign it to the current sprint"
  • 💡 Sprint summaries include a list of incomplete items — useful for identifying what to carry over to the next sprint.
  • 💡 The AI can tell you about sprints across all your workspaces, not just the active one.
