Time Tracking
The Time tab in the work item detail modal lets you log hours spent and track progress against estimates.

Logging Time
Fill in:
- Hours — How many hours you worked (minimum 0.25, in quarter-hour increments)
- Date — The date the work was done (defaults to today)
- Note — Optional description of what you worked on
Click Add to save the entry.
Progress Bar
At the top of the Time tab, a progress bar shows how many hours have been logged versus the item's estimated hours.
- 🟢 Green — Under estimate
- 🔴 Red — Over estimate
If no estimated hours are set, the bar just shows total logged hours.
Time Log History
All time entries appear in a list showing:
- Who logged the time
- Date
- Hours
- Note (if provided)
You can delete your own time entries using the trash icon.
Setting Estimated Hours
Use the Estimated Hours field in the right-side properties of the detail modal. This sets the target that the progress bar measures against.
Tips
- 💡 Log time regularly — it's easier to remember what you did today than last week.
- 💡 Time logs help your team understand where effort goes, making future estimates more accurate.
Comments & Activity Timeline
The Comments tab on any work item shows a combined timeline of comments and activity — everything that's happened with this item in one place.
Recurring Work Items
Some tasks repeat on a schedule — weekly reports, monthly reviews, daily standups. Dragon Planner's recurrence feature handles this automatically.
