Recurring Work Items
Some tasks repeat on a schedule — weekly reports, monthly reviews, daily standups. Dragon Planner's recurrence feature handles this automatically.
Some tasks repeat on a schedule — weekly reports, monthly reviews, daily standups. Dragon Planner's recurrence feature handles this automatically.
Setting Up Recurrence
Open a work item's detail modal and look for the Recurrence section on the right side (below Tags). Toggle it on and choose an interval:
| Interval | Schedule |
|---|---|
| Daily | Every day |
| Weekly | Every 7 days |
| Biweekly | Every 14 days |
| Monthly | Every 30 days |
| Custom | Every N days (you specify) |
How It Works
When a recurring item is completed (moved to Done), Dragon Planner automatically creates a new copy of it set back to Todo status, scheduled for the next occurrence.
Managing Recurrence
- Pause — Toggle recurrence off temporarily without deleting the schedule. The "Next run" date is preserved.
- Resume — Toggle it back on to continue the schedule.
- Delete — Remove the recurrence rule entirely.
Tips
- 💡 Set up recurrence on items that repeat at predictable intervals so you never forget them.
- 💡 The "Next: [date]" indicator shows when the next occurrence will be created.
- 💡 Recurrence is only available on existing items (not during initial creation).
